Three hours of play beat three days of lectures

Our serious games let teams experience what a lecture struggles to convey: the bullwhip effect, the weight of WIP, the power of pull flow, keeping calm in a crisis. The debrief then links the game to your own reality.

The Lean Café on video: the bakery and the café, from order to till (1 min 46).

Supply chain and the bullwhip effect

The Beer Game

Four links in a supply chain, one beer, no talking between tables. Week after week, everyone orders from their supplier… and discovers how a small change in customer demand becomes a storm of inventory and stock-outs as it moves upstream.

Pull flow and Lean in services, for real

The Lean Café

The game is about setting up and running a real café in your company's entrance hall. Your colleagues are the customers, the orders are real, and so is the wait. Service after service, the team moves from push to pull and watches waiting time melt away without anyone working faster.

What teams take away

  • See how batches and WIP drive lead time
  • Balance stations to the customer’s pace
  • Build standard work as a team
  • Bring Lean to life in front of the whole company, not just in a training room

What will happen

  1. Set up the café

The team builds the counter, the bakery and the till in the hall, shares out the roles and opens for service.

  2. First service, push flow

Everything is prepared in advance to go fast: cups pile up, orders get mixed up, the queue grows.

  3. Measure and analyse

Waiting time, mistakes, unsold items: the figures go on the table and the team redesigns its flow.

  4. Next service, pull flow

Only what is ordered gets made, at the customer’s pace. Waiting melts away without anyone working faster.
