Partners to go further
Measuring what your lines really do, managing energy, automating, growing a business, reinventing farming: we work with carefully chosen partners to extend our work on flows.

Factbird OEE: real-time OEE and energy
Factbird is a Danish production monitoring solution. Ready-to-use sensors are installed on your lines in under an hour, without stopping production, and the software calculates OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) continuously. No more manual records: operators, managers and executives see the same figures at the same time.
Improving OEE
OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality
- Availability
- Is the line running when it should?
- Performance
- Is it running at the right speed?
- Quality
- Are parts right first time?
- Automatic production counting, through sensors (Factbird DUO) or PLC connections
- Stops detected automatically, then categorised by operators from their screen
- Pareto of stop causes and OEE loss waterfall, line by line
- Action plans tracked as PDCA, directly in the tool
- Factbird VIEW: video linked to production data, to replay what happened

+9 OEE points
on average in the first 90 days, and +19% productivity, according to customer data published by Factbird.
Optimising energy
The same units measure what your machines consume: electricity, compressed air, water, gas. Related to output, consumption becomes a performance indicator like any other.
- Clamp-on current sensors fitted to machine supplies without stopping them, or precision energy meters
- Consumption per line and per product, set against the volume produced
- Idle and standby consumption made visible: often the first source of savings
- Estimated carbon footprint per product, useful for ESG reporting
With Factbird you know what each machine consumes; with EnerLexia you act on how energy is produced and shared locally. EnerLexia

-30%
energy consumption at Danfoss with the Factbird energy meter (case study published by Factbird).
What Phi-Lean brings
A measurement tool changes nothing on its own. We help you turn it into a lasting performance lever:
Choose pilot lines
Where OEE weighs most on your lead times and costs.
Deploy and configure
Stop categories, targets, screens: a tool that speaks your language.
Train the teams
Operators and managers: read OEE, categorise a stop, respond.
Set up routines
Daily huddle, problem solving, action plans that move forward.

EnerLexia: collective self-consumption and energy management
Based in Metz, EnerLexia specialises in collective energy self-consumption and energy management in the Grand Est region of France. It carries out feasibility studies, acts as the organising legal entity (PMO) for collective self-consumption schemes, from legal structure to the interface with the grid operator, and supports day-to-day energy management. It works with local authorities, businesses and farmers in north-eastern France.
Why this partnership
With Factbird you know what each machine consumes; with EnerLexia you act on how energy is produced and shared locally.
PROCiD: machine vision, artificial intelligence and traceability
Based in Dieulouard, in Meurthe-et-Moselle (France), about ten kilometres from Liverdun, PROCiD designs vision solutions for industry and logistics: camera-based quality inspection, robot guidance, 3D vision, artificial intelligence applied to defect detection, identification and marking. Its team of engineers and technicians brings more than 35 years of experience in machine vision, and less than two years after it was founded PROCiD earned the Partner System Integrator label from Cognex, the world leader in machine vision.
Why this partnership
Lean seeks quality right first time: stop at the first defect, where it is born, rather than sort at the end of the line. Machine vision makes that check systematic, part by part, and traceability makes every pallet findable. When a Phi-Lean diagnostic shows that a manual inspection is a bottleneck, that a defect escapes operators, or that reliable traceability is missing from risk management, PROCiD brings the technical solution. We start from the flow; the machine comes next, in the right place.
Four fields
Industrial inspection
2D solutions analysing images captured at high speed by a camera: presence, dimensions, appearance, reading.
3D vision and robot guidance
Profiles and depth by profilometer, fringe projection or stereovision, to guide a robot to the right part.
Artificial intelligence
Deep learning applied to vision: detecting and classifying anomalies without describing them in advance.
Traceability
Barcodes, 2D codes, RFID, industrial printing and marking, built for extreme conditions.
Some PROCiD solutions
- HANDOGA : 3D bin-picking
- DENOBACT : automated Petri dish analysis with deep learning
- PIKEYE 2D : locating components on a conveyor
- MIKADO : automatic multi-format depalletising
- XB12 : automatic reading of pallet codes

Start & Grow: the ENIM-Alumni business leaders' network
Start & Grow is a professional group of ENIM-Alumni (ANIENIM), the association of graduate engineers from the École nationale d’ingénieurs de Metz. It brings together business leaders, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, buyers and founders through afterworks, themed talks, company visits and experience sharing.
Why this partnership
A place for business leaders to exchange, where improving flows and growing a company are discussed in practical terms.

Phi-Lean is part of the network
Farming Futura: Lean & Green farming, and the Farm of the Future
Farming Futura is a not-for-profit network of practitioners, researchers and industry experts designing tomorrow’s “Lean & Green” farming systems. Its mission: helping small farms cut waste, unlock funding and grow sustainably. The network was founded by Professor Pauline Found, co-author of Staying Lean (Shingo Research Prize 2009), and brings together Cardiff University, Seedleaves, Micro Acres Wales, ServerGro and CCR Energy, among others.
Partner's website : farmingfutura.orgThe Farm of the Future: when data centres feed farming
A data centre produces heat day and night, most of it wasted. An indoor farm needs heat all year round. The Farm of the Future links the two: heat recovered from servers supports crops grown in a controlled environment, producing locally and in every season with energy that would otherwise be lost. ServerGro, a partner of the network, designs exactly these systems combining data centres and indoor farms.
Phi-Lean’s role: internal flows and the supply chain
An innovative farm is still a factory of living things: it has to meet its lead times, yields and costs. Phi-Lean brings flow organisation:
- Mapping internal flows, from sowing to harvest and packing
- Sizing workstations, stocks and rhythms for steady production
- Organising the supply chain: purchasing, logistics and local distribution of the harvest
- Standard work and visual management, so the system holds up day to day
Why this partnership
Lean was born in the factory; Farming Futura applies it to farming. The same flow principles serve local food production that is lean on energy and waste.

Let's talk about your flow
Thirty minutes on the phone is often enough to know whether a diagnostic makes sense, and on which scope. No commitment.
